The background:

 Linkin park parks turbulent history of rejection and members leaving has moulded the band into the award winning legends that we see today. In 1996 the three young men Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson And Rob Bourdon fresh from the Californian high school recruited Joe Hahn, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, and Mark Wakefield to perform in their band, Xero. However after a couple years of recording in mike’s make shift recording studio in his bedroom, they were still getting rejected by record labels. This tore a rift in the band promting Wakefield, at that time the band's vocalist, to leave the band in search for other projects. Farrell also left to tour with Tasty Snax among other bands.

After along search for wakefields replacement Xero recruited Arizona vocalist Chester Benningham in march1999. Bennington, formerly of Grey Daze, became a standout among applicants because of his unique singing style. The band changed its name from Xero to Hybrid Theory. The newborn vocal chemistry between Shinoda and Bennington helped revive the band, causing them to write new and better material. The band’s renaissance culminated with a change in name; from Hybrid Theory, the band changed its name to Linkin Park, a play on and homage to Santa Monica’s Lincoln Park. However, despite these changes, the band still struggled to sign a record deal. After facing numerous rejections from several major record labels, Linkin Park turned to Jeff Blue for additional help. After failing to land a deal with Warner Bros. record label on three previous try’s, Jeff Blue, now the vice president of Warner Bros. Records, helped the band sign a deal with the company in 1999. The band released its breakthrough album, Hybrid Theory the following year. since then the band has released and sold over two and a half million records, placing them firmly in the rock and roll hall of fame.

Will you still be humming it next week?
In the end, has been getting hummed by young and old alike for close to a decade, due to it’s highly addictive tune memorable lyrics make it both a moving and powerful piece.
Will it make the charts?
In my opinion “In The End” should make the top five in the single charts and the album “Hybrid Theory” should do the same in the album charts. But in reality the songs genre has too small an audience. So it would more likely make the top thirty.
